I'll bung the article below (& a link). As they were talking I believe mainly about the UK (although they threw in the developing world when it suited them) a few points that they failed to mention. The obvious being that actually the UK was once a forest, most of the 'marginal land' in this country could be returned to that state quite easily (pastures are not actually a natural phenomenon in the UK),
