Staff shooter

I am really wanting to try and become a staff shooter....does any one have any insight on what to do and what they look for....I contacted Bowtech and they suggested I start by going to my local bow shop and try to be a shop shooter....said this will look good on a resume....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....this stuff is really starting to eat me up, can ya tell!!
