How many panfish for a good fillet?
I was just looking at fresh fish prices on line and could hardly believe my eyes when I saw how much Turbot costs filleted! Even with my dodgy filleting (i.e not getting the most off the fish) I reckon I've got well over £80 worth (probably more) of fresh
If you are trying to impress the neighbours you can call this Baked Mackerel with Caramelised Apple and Cider Sauce. I like to start with 2 pints of dry cider. Recipe 4 Mackerel Fillets 1-2oz Melted Butter ½ pt Dry Cider 2 Dessert Apples
I just make a cut along the backbone of the cat starting right behind the 'ribs' almost all the way down to the tail (about a 1/2 inch away from the tip of the tail). Then, insert the knife just behind the 'ribs' and follow the backbone all the way down
