NEED HELP! Headers glowing red

Ive put together a 460 83 model short block with 69 model heads and a small comp cam 268 with the 83 cast iron intake. when breaking the cam in at an above idle the back 2 header tubes on each side turn red hot. So Ive tried a different carb, turned it around backwards, different spacers, pluged off all vacumn ports and tryed the timing at several different spots. Nothing I have done has made any differences. So it seems like it might be the intake. I pu

I'm hoping to get some help with finding out why the rt. side manifold glows red ? During a smog check the engine is reved to 2500 rpm and held there for 60 seconds, it was then I noticed it starting to glow. Has anyone else ran into this issue ?
I'm scraping together ideas for what to do with my exhaust. SCJ heads limit the optimal possibilities. I've "heard" that the maddog headers all use a SCJ sized exhaust flange; but this has never been confirmed by anybody running a SCJ head.
