Garrett vs Minelab - Treasure hunting

Ok. so here is the thing... I want to get into treasure hunting.

In the blue corner is a Garrett GTI 2500 vs the red corner a Minelab 705

Which one do you go for. both units are about the same $$$. The garrett is 100% coins and relics, then 705 is 75% coins/relics 25% gold.

I currently have a GP extreme.. should i just get a smaller coil for this?

Could i pls have some advice if there a detector thats fully waterproof, and will still find small gold. I am thinking of putting on the mask and flippers in the fresh water creeks.. I know most will find a gold ring at the beach, but i want something
First off I would like to say hello to everyone, im looking forward to learning all I can and eventually helping others. I have not used a detector in 20 years and even then it wasnt alot. I have been wanting to get into prospecting and using a detector
I note Adrian talking about loving his Garrett Infinium and finding a nugget beneath metal. Raises all sorts of questions. Discrimination? Kind of tired of picking up rubbish metals and no nuggets to the point where I just don't want to hear another
Gday All I run a 4500 and the wife would like something dead simple to use that she could chase coins etc with, while we're out prospecting/fossicking. I was originally going to get an xterra but she wants a "turn on and hunt" type cheapo. Ha
Have just read a very intersted post from people using SD/GP/GPX detectors on the beach with small (14") DD coils with a lot of success. I have been intersted in visiting my local beaches and didn't want to spend too much money on a beach machine
