all season pike fishing?

just wondering how many of you target pike all year round? and what you think to summer pike fishing right or wrong?
i do a bit of lure fishing in summer you cant beat the buzz when a pike big or small smashes into surface lure

Ive lived in thorne all my life (22 yrs) and only just got into fishing in the past couple of months.
Im after good spots in and around Thorne to go spinning for pike, perch, etc.

Hi all, I am hoping to go to Blenheim Palace shortly in pusuit of "Old Essox" has anybody on this forum fished there? ....any advice and tips would be most gratefull.
Apparantely it is OK to fish the rivers during the "closed" season.
It must be because I saw someone fishing the River Torne yesterday on Bawtry Road. And that is now the third person I have seen there since the closed season started.
