So called Beckham tax axed in Spain

Spain's big clubs face a new problem after the Spanish goverments decision last year to stop the so called Beckham law came into effect this week.

The law, named after Beckham because he was the first to benefit from it, was a loophole that allowed foreign workers (including professional sportsman), to pay 24 per cent tax on there wages.

This has now been stopped, and the players will pay the full 54 per cent (56 per ce
